In spring of 2011, the Delaware County District Library (DCDL) will be opening its newest branch in Orange Township.

To commemorate this opening and position their branches as part of a modern, growing library system, the DCDL has decided to initiate a complete rebranding, with Creative Spot’s assistance.

For many people, libraries represent so much more than books. DVDs, audio books, and community activities… the list of library’s services goes on and on. However, while technologies will always change, books remain at the heart of a library’s offering. With that in mind our design team set out to develop an identity that was contemporary and differentiated itself from other libraries in the state, while still incorporating the essence of books.

The end result was a bright, contemporary logo that puts a unique spin on a traditional stack of books. A particularly clever observer might notice that the books are stacked in the shape of Delaware County itself, a factoid that the library staff particularly enjoys.

We are also helping the library create a new website that will be launched early next year. Thanks to our friends at the Delaware County District Library for involving us in such a fun project!
